Project description
The purpose of this contract is to complete the existing digital radio TETRA communication system.
Project solution
Objective
The overall objective of the project is to strengthen Macedonia’s Integrated Border Management capacities in accordance with European/Schengen standards.
Implementation
The services provided included conducting surveys and preparing a conceptual design for the system extension. Vialto Consulting prepared technical specifications and a full supply tender dossier. They supported the tender launch and evaluation, supervised the installation and commissioning of the system, and provided continuous technical and procedural assistance. The consultant also prepared analysis and recommendations for legal cooperation, organized training and conference attendance, and provided detailed monitoring and reporting throughout the project. Additionally, the consultant offered technical advice, observed factory acceptance tests, and provided recommendations for effective maintenance and sustainability of the integrated system.
Result
The project achieved several key outcomes. It involved the analysis of all relevant information related to the implementation of TETRA 2, including expected performance, lessons learned, and beneficiary requirements. A survey was conducted to identify potential radio sites, and a conceptual design for the system extension was prepared. Representatives from the Ministry of Interior attended an annual TETRA conference. Technical specifications for the TETRA 3 supply contract were prepared, along with a tender dossier. Throughout the project, technical and procedural advice was provided during the implementation of the supply contract, and support was given for provisional acceptance procedures. Recommendations for maintenance and sustainability of the TETRA network were also provided, along with an analysis of the current legal framework and training needs assessment.
